Between 10-12 June 2025, the representatives of COE Programme Development Branch / Allied Command Transformation conducted a Periodic Assessment of the Human Intelligence Centre of Excellence (HUMINT COE).
The purpose of the activity was to ensure that HUMINT COE continues to meet the initial accreditation criteria established by the Military Committee and to verify that it remains both a reliable support and a high-value asset to the Alliance. This includes maintaining its effectiveness in enhancing NATO’s HUMINT capabilities and ensuring alignment with NATO standards and procedures.
Since 2009, experts from Romania, along with specialists from the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Türkiye, and the United States of America, have been driving the transformation of NATO’s HUMINT capabilities. Their work, based on Lessons Learned and Best Practices, integrates scientific research, modern technologies, innovative standards, and high-quality education and training, ensuring that Human Intelligence remains relevant in NATO and adapts to the evolving operational challenges.
The visit concluded on a highly positive note, with HUMINT COE successfully meeting all the requirements of its periodic assessment. This achievement not only highlights the organization’s ongoing value to NATO but also underscores its unwavering commitment to the Alliance’s objectives.
