Colonel Gabriel PASCARIU was appointed Director of the NATO HUMINT Centre of Excellence on the 17th of December 2024.

He graduated from the Infantry Institute in 1995, and his first assignments were in reconnaissance units and in HUMINT battalion. During his military career, Colonel PASCARIU participated in various allied operations, including Enduring Freedom and ISAF in Afghanistan, and performed various staff and leadership functions in HUMINT and the Romanian Military Intelligence Directorate, such as coordinating officer of Romanian teams in operations.

Colonel PASCARIU fulfilled the duties of Defence Attaché in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Emirates Oman and Qatar (2011-2015) and the Republic of Lebanon (2017-2021), and these assignments significantly contributed to his extensive experience in international environments, enhancing his global perspective and skills.

The NATO HUMINT Centre of Excellence Director holds an extensive portfolio of national and NATO military education and training, including postgraduate Course in Conducting Intelligence Operations, Intelligence Strategic course and other specialized HUMINT courses.

Colonel PASCARIU’s awards and decorations include the Defence Intelligence Emblem of Honour, the Defence Staff Emblem of Honour, and the NATO Non-Article 5 Medal.

Colonel PASCARIU was born on April 10, 1970. He is married and has one daughter.
