Cooperation between the NATO HUMINT Centre of Excellence and Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca

On the 7th of April 2022, the Babeș-Bolyai University (BBU) Rector, Professor, Ph.D., Daniel DAVID, accompanied by Vice-Rector and Associate professor, Ph.D., Cristian LITAN, Vice-Rector and Professor, Ph.D., Bálint MARKÓ, and Professor Ph.D., Laura DIOȘAN – the Director of the Department of Computer Science – visited the NATO Human Intelligence Centre of Excellence (HUMINT COE).
The event marked the beginning of the institutional cooperation between the HUMINT COE and BBU, aiming to explore areas of common interest, to begin with Psychology and Artificial Intelligence, where BBU is one of the international leaders.
The strategic engagement with BBU was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the HUMINT COE director, Colonel Florin TOMIUC and the BBU Rector Daniel DAVID. The document set the foundation of a promising future-proof construction, incorporating the vast experience and knowledge of one of the world-class universities in Romania, anchored in the most advanced academic practices and standards, and the HUMINT COE’s perseverance in supporting NATO’s priorities and transformation landmarks in the warfare concept development.
